- the cross-border transfer of employment practices in MNCs
- trade unions, CSR and corporate governance
- European information and consultation regulations
- employee involvement, voice and representation
- institutionalist, critical realist and labour process theory
Chris has published on these topics in a number of journals (incl. Organization Studies, Work Employment and Society, Human Resource Management, European Journal of Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Employee Relations). He is co-author, with Tony Edwards (King’s College London), of the book International Human Resource Management: Globalization, National Systems and Multinational Companies (2nd edn 2011, 1st edn 2006). He is on the Associate Board of the journal Work Employment and Society. He is a convenor of the BUIRA study group on international and comparative employment relations, and also a member of the AIB, BSA, EGOS and SASE.
