Thesis Title: Interactive Evolutionary Computation Driven by Gaze: A New Paradigm for Experimental Aesthetics and Beyond
About
The Gaze Driven Evolutionary Algorithm goes public, and get's a little wild, as we'll be using it to evolve dinosaurs at the London Science Museum all summer beginning Tuesday July 19th. The experiment, called "Insight from YOUR sight", is part of the Live Science programme run by the musuem and visitors will generate dinosaurs based on their eye-movements, and we will then check how much they like what they, and others, have evolved. This is the next step in validating the methodology I developed during my PhD and will lead into an evaluation of the technology by Special Effect with a view to developing an assistive creative/learning tool for handicapped children (thanks to a recently awarded British Academy grant).
